Born in Porto in 1975, he graduated from Escola das Artes da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto, with a degree in Sacred Music. He is presently studying for a Master’s Degree in the History of Musical Knowledge at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He has worked with organists such as M. Bernreuther, O. Latry, F. Lerhndorfer, P. Planiavsky and F. J. Stoiber. At the moment he is working in Paris with Eric Lebrun. In 1995, he won the first prize in the National Organ Competition. Filipe Veríssimo is the principal organist of the Georg Jann Pipe Organ of Lapa Church – Porto. On the 1st November 2002 he became Director of Music (Mestre Capela) of Lapa Church. In 2003 he founded the PortoGalante Ensemble – which is devoted to performing Baroque music with period instruments. [Versão Portuguesa ]
